My name is William "Lanse" Judson, Jr. In June of 1997, I lost my
vision in both of my eyes. I was diagnosed with anterior ischemic optic
neuropathy, and I was legally blind. After making numerous efforts to
try to get more professional opinions on what could be done to help my
condition, I was willing to try some very invasive treatments. But each
time, I was told by a new doctor, "I think this is just kind of going be
the way it is."
It was not until I met Dr. Nawei Jiang on May 3, 1999 that I found
hope.
After an intense and long series of acupuncture treatment, my
condition greatly improved, despite the other doctors saying they "did
not expect to see any improvement". I would like to mention that from
May 3, 1999, I did not receive any other treatment outside of Dr.
Nawei's special acupuncture technique. By March 1, 2001, I passed the
driver's license test and could drive again. Now my vision is greatly
improved and I am working and enjoying life!

This letter is written to sing the praises of acupuncturist, Dr. Nawei Jiang, of Colorado Springs, CO.
I came to Dr. Jiang a year ago after suffering a wet macular
degeneration attack in my right eye. I was told by a retinal specialist
that nothing could be done, and that further damage to that eye would be
more than likely. I was also told that I had beginning dry macular
degeneration in my left eye. A vision field test confirmed four areas of
gray in that eye.
I was referred to Dr. Jiang by an acupuncturist who had studied with
her. Over the last year, I have seen Dr. Jiang twice weekly. I trusted
her to help me since "Western Medicine" offered no treatment at all.
After one year, I had another vision field test. Since wet macular
degeneration is irreversible, the right eye had remained the same, but
had certainly not gotten worse. (I say "irreversible" but Dr. Jiang
would never use that word!) The left eye, on the other hand, provided a
wonderful surprise. All of the gray areas were gone! My left eye is
clear!
Another wonderful effect of Dr. Jiang's therapy is that neither of
my eyes is as (sensitive) to light as they were a year ago. My eyes now
rarely become tired and "grainy".
Dr. Jiang is a leading practitioner in this field and I am certainly
living testimony to that. My thanks to her are endless.

Two years ago I was diagnosed with macular degeneration, glaucoma
and cataracts. A year later, all three conditions had worsened. I was
told that the macular degeneration wasn't treatable, so I was really
relieved when I learned that (Dr. Jiang) offered acupuncture treatments
for eye problems, including macular degeneration.
Now, after eight months of treatments and Chinese herbal medicine,
I've returned to my eye doctor to be retested. His exam has shown that
the macula is now clear (no macular degeneration) and that both the
glaucoma and cataracts are improving.
With the most difficult condition gone, I'm now looking forward to
full recovery using (Dr. Jiang's) approach to tradition Chinese
medicine. That will certainly make it more enjoyable for me to pursue my
passion for sculpting!

Between five and six years ago the Ophthalmologist I was going to
for cataracts said I was developing the beginning stages of macular
degeneration in my right eye and I should take an herbal supplement to
prevent it from advancing. Since that time, I have been taking herbal
supplements and vitamins because I didn't want the macular degeneration
to advance.
In 2002, I had macular hole surgery in my left eye and my vision in
that eye is now limited. After this surgery, I became very concerned
with protecting my right eye (the one with macular degeneration) because
it was my good eye.
During our initial interview, Dr. Jiang said acupuncture works well
with the beginning stage of eye disorders and I decided to take a
series of acupuncture treatments. About five or six weeks ago, I visited
my Ophthalmologist and he said I did not have macular degeneration in
my right eye! I credit Dr. Jiang's acupuncture treatments with
eliminating the macular degeneration in my right eye.

Three years ago I was
diagnosed with cataracts, glaucoma, and macular degeneration.
Determined to find the most effective treatment, I did a
fairly extensive search of available options.
My findings were not terribly encouraging: surgery;
lifelong dependence on medicine, including steroids; and, in the
case of the macular degeneration-inevitable blindness.
As a sculptor, my eyesight is essential to me and I was
not ready to lose it.
That’s why I was
intrigued when I saw the ad for Nawei’s Acupuncture Clinic in
our local paper. I
called the office immediately and asked lots of questions.
I learned that while practicing and researching as a
doctor of Traditional Oriental Medicine in China, Nawei Jiang
had developed a specialized treatment technique for eye problems
such as mine and that she’d had good outcomes in a significant
percentage of her patients.
I decided that
this sounded a lot more encouraging than anything I’d read
about and decided to try this approach.
The results have been profound in my case.
After twenty-one months of treatment, there is no
glaucoma. I’m
continuing to receive treatments for the cataracts and have
every reason to believe that my eyes will eventually be restored
to full health.
I’m so
grateful to Nawei and her associate Jena.
Together with their wonderful staff, they’ve literally
given me my eyes back!

Since I’ve been having
acupuncture treatments with Dr. Nawei, the symptoms of wet macular
degeneration in my left eye have decreased significantly. The
blurriness in my central vision has disappeared. The wavy lines have
been straight. This improvement happened after only five treatments. It
is very impressive. We’re half way through my treatment plan, so I’m
looking forward to even better results based on what’s occurred thus
far.
